Anisotropic magnetoresistance in antiferromagnetic metallic IrMn

By Alberto Pomar Posted on 14/11/2016 Posted in dissemination, publication
Anisotropic magnetoresistance in antiferromagnetic metallic IrMn

The use of an antiferromagnetic material with large spin-orbit effect in tunnel junctions with improved anisotropic magentoresistance has been demonstrated in a international collaboration leaded by ICMAB.   See more at Highlights page.

Spontaneous Formation of LaMnO3:Mn3O4 Nanostructures

In the framework of the European project DAFNEOX, a paper in collaboration between ICMAB, ICN2 and IPB explores the spontaneous formation of self-assembled ferrimagnetic Mn3O4 inclusions inside an antiferromagnetic LaMnO3 thin film. See more at Highlights page.

Surface Chemical Structuration in Functional Perovskite Thin Films

Surface Chemical Structuration in Functional Perovskite Thin Films

Stacking fault formation during growth of oxide films leads  to the spontaneous formation of double chemical terminated surfaces with distinct local properties. See more at Highlights page

Strain-induced perpendicular magnetic anisotropy

By Alberto Pomar Posted on 14/05/2016 Posted in dissemination, publication
Strain-induced perpendicular magnetic anisotropy

Strain-induced perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in La2CoMnO6-e thin films and its dependence on film thickness A new paper published in Physical Review B demonstrates that the strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy observed in LCMO films may be attributed to tensile stress. See …

Welcome Baptiste Colson

Baptiste Colson, from Paris, has joined us for an internship until End of June. He will work on thin film preparation and characterization. He is also a good badminton player so do not hesitate to ask him for a match.

New paper in Advanced Materials Interface

Misfit Dislocation Guided Topographic and Conduction Patterning in Complex Oxide Epitaxial Thin Films In this work, we uncover the role of misfit dislocations in creating periodic surface strain patterns both topographic and functional during the growth of complex oxide films. …
