Nonstoichiometry Driven Ferromagnetism in Double Perovskite La2Ni1–xMn1+xO6 Insulating Thin Films
The magnetic properties of the ferromagnetic insulating La2Ni1−xMn1+xO6 double perovskite are studied. It is found that Ni/Mn stoichiometric samples always exhibit values of TC and MS far from the optimum ones. In contrast, Ni-deficient samples show excellent magnetic properties. The role of Ni vacancies in the puzzling insulating ferromagnetic behavior observed in nonstoichiometric samples is analyzed.
